Imaging

Patients' radiographs, CBCTs, scans and photos — uploaded, read tooth by tooth, signed, compared and shared safely.

For: doctors, assistants, managers · Requires the „Vede studiile imagistice” permission · The module must be switched on for the clinic

Everyday studies

How do I see what I have to read

  1. Open Imaging. The “To read” tab is open.
  2. Narrow the list with “Search for the patient”, “All types” or “Mine”.
  3. Click a row under “Awaiting report” to open the study.
More

“Awaiting report” holds studies that are prepared and not yet signed. “Clear the filters” brings them all back. Each list shows the newest 100 rows; for an older one, search for the patient.

Two more lists may appear above:

  • “⚠️ They could not be prepared” — with the reason on each; “↻ Resume” tries again. They come first, because nobody resumes them unless they see them.
  • “⏳ Being prepared” — studies in progress; the list refreshes by itself.

How do I open a patient's imaging

  1. In the patient record, click the “Imaging” tab.
  2. Or: in Imaging, the “Patients” tab, search in “Search by the patient's name or ID” and click the patient.
  3. Click the card of the study you want to read.
More

The “Patients” tab and the imaging profile exist when the clinic has the “Raport radiologic pe dinte” (Per-tooth radiology report) module on (Settings → Personalization → Modules). With it off, each study has a simple “Radiology record” (see the simple radiology record); nothing written is lost when you switch.

In the profile, on the left are “Patient's doctors”, “Shared with”, “Case notes”, the “Photos” and “Documents” cards, then one card per study, with its status: “Being prepared”, “Preparation failed”, “Signed v…” or “Nesemnat” (Unsigned). The “i” button on a card shows the device, the field of view, the voxel, the dose and the series UID. On the right are the “New analysis” tiles and the patient's reports.

When the patient has a panoramic and periapicals from the same day, the “Panoramică + retroalveolare” (Panoramic + periapicals) card opens them side by side. The record icon next to the name leads to the full record.

How do I upload a radiograph, a CBCT or a scan

  1. In the patient's imaging, click “+ New study”.
  2. Choose the “Study type” and check the “Acquisition date”.
  3. Click “Choose files” or, for a CBCT, “Choose the CBCT folder”.
  4. Click “Upload the study”.
More

What you can upload:

TypeFiles
Periapical radiograph, panoramicDICOM (.dcm), PNG, JPEG, TIFF
CBCTthe folder of DICOM slices; next to it, the Romexis .xml session
Intraoral scan (STL)STL, PLY, OBJ
PhotoPNG, JPEG, TIFF

You can also drag files onto the box; a .zip archive works too, or “Choose a folder”. Anything that does not match the chosen type is set aside and counted on screen, and the limit reads “Up to … per file and … per study”.

“The device” fills itself in from the file, if it is written there. In “Note”, write why the study was taken, if you like.

Dental devices' compressed formats (JPEG Lossless, JPEG 2000, JPEG-LS and others) are read on the server — do not convert anything first.

A radiograph uploaded to the record's gallery, or added from a tooth's panel, also goes into Imaging as a study of the patient (with the tooth already marked, from the tooth panel). Old radiographs from the file are moved once by the technical administrator, with a script.

Requires the “Încarcă studii imagistice” (Uploads imaging studies) permission.

How do I read a radiograph

  1. Open the study.
  2. Zoom with the wheel; pan with the wheel pressed or with “Move”.
  3. Use “◐ Negative”, “Magnifier” or “▤ Equalization” for a hard-to-read image.
  4. Click “↺ Restore” to go back to the original image.
More

The toolbar above the image:

  • Tools: “Move”, “Length”, “Angle”, “Marker” (one click, then the text), “Profile” (density along a line), “Calibration”.
  • Display: “◐ Negative”, rotate, “Mirror”, “Magnifier”, “↺ Restore”.
  • Filters: “◆ Sharpness” (first click normal, second strong, third off), “▤ Equalization”, “▦ Relief”, pseudo-color.
  • “PNG” downloads the image on screen, “⛶ Full screen” enlarges it.

Double-click fits the image. Shortcuts: I negative, L magnifier, R restore.

How do I read a CBCT

  1. Open the CBCT study and wait for “Opening the volume…”.
  2. Choose the layout: “Dental”, “⊞ All” or a single plane (“Axial”, “Coronal”, “Sagital” (Sagittal), “3D”).
  3. With “Crosshair”, click in one plane: the other two move there.
  4. Change the slice with the wheel; Ctrl+wheel zooms.
  5. Click “↺ Restore” to go back to the original views.
More

A CBCT opened once is kept in the browser for 14 days, so it opens faster next time. “Sync zoom” zooms all planes at once.

The volume opens at reduced resolution so it is fast. For a canal or a crack, put the crosshair there and click “Detail at the crosshair”: the area around it loads at the original resolution. “The whole volume” takes you back.

3D renderings: “Bone”, “Teeth”, “Soft tissue”, “Metal”, “Density”, “Radiograph”, “MIP”, plus “3D: transparent bone” (the canal and implants show through the bone). Height cut: “Stays underneath”, “Stays on top”, “No cut”.

Shortcuts: 1–4 one view, 0 all, D dental, C crosshair, M move, W window, R restore, F full screen. Double-clicking a view opens it across the whole scene.

How do I change brightness and contrast

  1. Click a quick button: “Bone”, “Soft tissue”, “Teeth” or “Tot intervalul” (Full range).
  2. For fine-tuning, move the “Centru” (Center) and “Width” sliders.
More

On a radiograph, “Default” restores the window the device wrote into the file. On a CBCT, right-click dragging over the image changes the window (or the “◐ Window” tool).

On a volume you can thicken the slice (“Lama” (Slab) or “thickness”): averaging slices smooths the noise, and “MIP” (maximum intensity) keeps a canal, an implant or a filling visible through the whole slab.

How do I measure on the image

  1. Choose “Length” (two clicks), “Angle” (the vertex, then two points) or, on a CBCT, “Density” (one click).
  2. Click on the image. Esc cancels a placed point.
  3. On a radiograph, click “Save the measurements”.
More

On a CBCT, measurements appear under “Measurements on the volume” and save themselves, in exact millimeters. On a radiograph, the file's millimeters are measured at the sensor, not at the tooth, so they show with “~”; a file with no scale (a JPEG) measures in pixels. For exact millimeters, calibrate.

Measurements on the old viewer's slices are not drawn in 3D: “Move them into 3D” brings them onto the 3D scene, in millimeters.

How do I calibrate a radiograph

  1. Choose the “Calibration” tool.
  2. Draw a line over something of known length (an endodontic file, an implant).
  3. Enter “The real length, in millimeters”.
  4. Click “Calibrate”.
More

After calibration, the image caption reads “Calibrated on a known length: measurements are in real millimeters.” An image has only one calibration.

The per-tooth report

How do I write findings on a tooth

  1. Click the tooth in the “The teeth in the report” chart.
  2. On its card, click “+ Finding”.
  3. Search in “Search for a finding” or browse “By groups”; choose the grade.
  4. Click “Validează” (Validate) when you are done with the tooth.
More

Anything not in the catalog is written as a free finding, “What is seen, in the doctor's words”. The card also has “Notă” (Note — the doctor's comment on the tooth) and “+ Add image”. A validated tooth shows “✓ Approved”, with your name; “Cancel the confirmation” reopens it.

Anything not tied to a tooth — the sinuses, the TMJ, the bone — goes in the “Across the whole study” card, also with “+ Finding”.

  • The pills above the chart choose which teeth go into the report: “All” or “Select the teeth”, then a click on a tooth takes it out or puts it back.
  • “Show grade and surfaces” shows the details on the chart.
  • Everything saves by itself; “Cancel” in the bottom bar undoes the last change.

Teeth are written in FDI (11–48 permanent, 51–85 primary), shown in the format the clinic chose (see the number format).

Requires the “Completează fișa radiologică” (Fills in the radiology record) permission.

How do I sign the report

  1. Write the “Concluzia” (Conclusion) and “Recommendations” in the report panel.
  2. Click “Save the draft” if you are not finishing now.
  3. Click “Validate all and sign” in the bottom bar.
  4. Confirm “Approve all teeth and sign?”.
More

“Extended conclusion” has separate sections, for a longer report. Teeth not yet approved are approved on signing. “Sign the report”, in the conclusion panel, signs without approving the teeth.

A signed report closes the study: the findings, files, study details, measurements and 3D scene (implants, canal, models) no longer change. The study can still be read, printed and shared.

Requires the “Semnează raportul radiologic” (Signs the radiology report) permission.

How do I print the report

  1. For a draft, click “Print report without signature” in the bottom bar.
  2. For a signed version, click “Print” next to the version.
  3. Choose the “Varianta” (Version): “Complete, for the file” or “For the patient, in terms they understand”.
  4. Click “Print”.
More

In the window you can also choose “Limba” (Language), “Culori” (Colors), “The images in negative” and “What goes on the sheet”. Your choice stays on your computer; “Save for the clinic” makes it the default for everyone, and “↺ How the clinic prints it” brings it back.

A draft prints without the conclusion and without signatures, with a note in the footer. If the volume is not open in the viewer, the sheet prints without the panoramic and without slices.

“Archive to file” puts the signed version in the patient's documents; “in the file” then appears.

How do I correct a report after signing

  1. In the report panel, click “Începe versiunea 2” (Start version 2) (or the next number).
  2. Correct the findings, the conclusion or the scene.
  3. Sign: the draft becomes the next version.
More

The signed version stays untouched. The same path is used when a study that has been read needs planning: sign the reading, then start the next version. Versions are also visible from the profile: “i” on the report card → “The report versions” → “Open the report”.

How do I move findings into the treatment plan

  1. Under the report, in the “Referral recommendations” card, click “Create treatment plan”.
  2. Check the rows that go into the plan.
  3. Click “Adaugă … rows” (Add … rows).
More

The rows go into the patient's plan with no price; the service is chosen in the plan. Requires the “Propune plan de tratament” (Proposes a treatment plan) permission.

How do I put an image in the report

  1. Bring the view you want on screen (a slice, a 3D reconstruction).
  2. Click “To report”.
More

The image is attached to the report. On the per-tooth report, a view can go straight onto a tooth's card (see a tooth's slices). Remove an image with “Remove the image from the report”.

How do I mark the teeth on a radiograph

  1. On a panoramic or periapical, click “✎ The numbers” (or “Edit the numbers”).
  2. Click the numbers of the teeth visible on the image.
  3. Click “Save the numbers”.
More

An image with no teeth marked is not linked to teeth and does not appear on their cards. Teeth that already have findings stay marked.

How do I draw a finding on a radiograph

  1. Choose the tooth on the chart or on its card.
  2. Choose the “▭ Box” or “✎ Mask” tool.
  3. Drag over the finding's area on the image.
More

“Bone level” places the bone-loss ruler and proposes the grade (“Proposes: bone loss …”); “Remove the ruler” deletes it. “↖ Select” selects a drawing.

The mask groups (“Perio”, “Restorative”, “Endo”, “Anatomy”) can be hidden and shown. Other buttons: “Focus on tooth”, “◫ Bitewings” (the premolar and molar areas), “▦ Matrix” (all the images in the series, laid out on the arch), “◐ Negative”, “⤢ Enlarge”.

How do I choose a tooth's slices on a CBCT

  1. On the tooth's card, click “Felii” (Slices).
  2. In “Tooth … · slices”, click a slice to put it on the card or take it off.
  3. Click “⤢” on a slice to enlarge and mark it.
  4. Click “✕ Close”.
More

Slices appear once the arch curve has been drawn. On the enlarged slice you have “Ruler”, “Arrow”, “Angle” and “Eraser”, then “Save the markings”.

“The tooth's planes” → “Center the viewer on the tooth” puts the three planes on the tooth; “Add view to report” puts the view on its card.

How do I make the endodontic or wisdom-teeth report

  1. For endo, click “Endo” on the tooth's card.
  2. Click “Print the endodontic report”.
  3. For wisdom teeth, click “Wisdom teeth” above the chart, then “Print the study”.
More

Both need a CBCT with the arch curve drawn and the volume loaded.

How do I fill in the simple radiology record

  1. On the study page, in “Radiology record”, choose the “Grupa” (Group) and the “Constatarea” (Finding).
  2. Choose the grade and the tooth; add an “Observation” if needed.
  3. Click “+ Add finding”.
  4. Write the conclusion in “The radiology report” and click “Sign the report”.
More

This is how a study looks when the “Raport radiologic pe dinte” (Per-tooth radiology report) module is off. “Carry to the odontogram” marks the findings on the patient's odontogram (it also needs the “Editează fișa / istoricul” (Edits the record / history) permission). A signed version prints with “For the file” or “For the patient”.

How do reports reach the patient record

  1. Open the visit in which the study was taken.
  2. In the “This visit's imaging” card, click “Put the findings in the record”.
More

Findings from the visit's signed reports go into the radiology section.

Form 043/e (the dental patient record) prints the newest signed version of each study, never a draft. The form's PDF is made when it is generated, so a report signed afterwards only appears on the next form generated.

Uploading and the study

How do I assign what a device sent

  1. In Imaging, find the “To assign” card.
  2. Click the suggested patient, or search in “Another patient: search by name or phone”.
  3. If it is missing, choose the “Study type…”.
  4. Click “Atribuie lui …” (Assign to …).
More

Studies sent automatically by devices belong to no one until someone assigns them. Each suggestion says why it is proposed: “appointment”, “name and date of birth”, “name” or “Date of birth”.

A study sent by mistake is thrown out with “Discard”, with a reason; it never reaches a record.

The card is visible to anyone with “Încarcă studii imagistice” (Uploads imaging studies).

How do I keep working while a CBCT uploads

  1. During the upload, click “Continue in the background”.
  2. Follow the percentage on the “Uploads (1)” tray at the bottom.
  3. Click the tray to reopen the window.
More
  • If the connection drops, the screen shows how many seconds nothing has gone through; after 90 seconds the upload resumes by itself. “Resume the upload” continues where it stopped.
  • Very large files upload in parts, four at a time; a failed part is resent by itself.
  • Do not close the page: the app asks first, because files not yet uploaded would have to be chosen again.

What do I do when a study is “Being prepared” or failed

  1. Wait: the page refreshes by itself, and you can close it.
  2. If it says “Preparation failed”, read the reason.
  3. Click “↻ Resume preparation”.
More

After the upload, the server groups the slices into series and builds the volume and the thumbnail — for a CBCT, from a few seconds to a few minutes. The study's doctor, if one is chosen, gets a notification when it is ready. A study left “Being prepared” after an interruption is resumed automatically, within half an hour.

“↻ Full resolution” on an old radiograph prepares it again at the sensor's resolution; measurements stay in place.

“↻ Resume preparation” requires “Încarcă studii imagistice” (Uploads imaging studies).

How do I add files or correct a study's details

  1. On the study page, click “+ Add more files” for a forgotten image.
  2. Or click “Study details” and correct the date, device, visit, teeth or note.
  3. Click “Save”.
More

The “Acquisition date” is often wrong: the device writes it from its own clock, never set. “The teeth it shows (FDI)” links the study to teeth.

Remove a wrong file from “Study files” with “Remove from the study”. On the per-tooth report, the list sits under the report, in the collapsed “All the study's images and files” section.

All of this closes after signing (see the correction).

How do I compare two of the patient's studies

  1. In the study header, open “Compare with…”.
  2. Choose the other study: it opens alongside, read-only.
More

The study alongside takes no measurements — they would end up on the other image's report. From a tooth's panel in the record, “Compare” puts the newest image next to the one before it.

Two CBCTs: on a CBCT's per-tooth report, click “Previous CBCT”. “Comparison with the previous CBCT” overlays them on the bone and shows them in the same planes, “now” and “previous”. If the mean error is large, check on the slices.

How do I start a new analysis

  1. In the patient profile, click a tile under “New analysis” (for example “Implant”).
  2. At each step, choose the study from the thumbnails or click “Upload new …”.
  3. Click “Order”.
More

The tiles: “CBCT”, “Panoramic”, “Intraoral”, “3D model”, “Ortho”, “Intraoral scan”, “Implant”. Steps marked “optional” can be skipped. “Order” opens the main study ready for analysis — for “Implant”, with planning open; for “Ortho”, with the orthodontic analysis. “Ortho” needs a CBCT: the landmarks are placed in the volume, so a panoramic is not enough.

How do I send a study to another doctor

  1. On the study page, click “Share”.
  2. Choose “Send to a doctor, with a code” or “Simple link”.
  3. Fill in “For whom” and “How many days” (1–90).
  4. Click “Trimite” (Send) (or “Make a link”).
  5. Click “Copy the link”; give the access code separately.
More

When sending with a code, enter the “Doctor's address”, a “Comment for the doctor”, and check the two statements: that the recipient is a dental professional and that the patient has consented. “Send the link by email to the doctor (the code does not go by email).” sends it by email. Give the six-digit code by phone or SMS.

“All the patient's studies, and those made from now on, for as long as the link lasts.” shares the whole patient. From the profile, “Share the patient” does the same.

Requires the “Completează fișa radiologică” (Fills in the radiology record) permission.

How do I download or export studies

  1. On the record's “Imaging” tab, click “Export”.
  2. Check the studies.
  3. Click “Download the archive”.
More

The archive is built in the browser, one folder per study. A single file is downloaded from “Study files”, with “Download”; the image on screen, with “PNG”.

How do I see who opened a study

  1. On the study page, open “All the study's images and files” (on the per-tooth report).
  2. In the “Who has viewed the study” card, click “Show the log”.
More

The log shows opens, downloads, prints, exports and shared links, with who and when. When a patient asks who saw their radiograph, the answer is here. Requires the “Vede jurnalul de activitate” (Views the activity log) permission.

How do I delete a study

  1. On the study page, click “Delete”.
  2. Enter the reason and confirm.
More

The study disappears from the record, but the row is kept with the reason, and the files stay in storage as long as the clinic decided. A study deleted by mistake is restored from Journal → Deleted. From the profile, “Delete the study” in the card's menu does the same. Requires the “Șterge studii imagistice” (Deletes imaging studies) permission.

The patient in imaging

How do I find patients with imaging

  1. In Imaging, click the “Patients” tab.
  2. Search in “Search by the patient's name or ID”.
  3. Switch between “Grid” and “List”.
More

“Shared” shows only patients sent outside the clinic. In the list, “Patient name” and “Last modified” sort on click, and “Age” and “Last modified” have filters (“Adults”, “Today”, “One week”…). The icons on a row show what the patient has: CBCT, radiographs, panoramic, scans, photos, documents. With the “Adaugă pacienți” (Adds patients) permission, the “Add patient” button is right here.

How do I add the doctors and the case notes

  1. In the patient profile, at “Patient's doctors”, click “+”.
  2. Check the doctors and click “Add”.
  3. At “Case notes”, click “Add a case description”, write, and click “Save”.
More

Case notes hold the reason for referral, what is being looked for and the relevant history. Remove a doctor with “Remove attending doctor”. The doctor from the record is marked “from the record”.

How do I work with photo albums

  1. In the patient profile, click the “Photos” card.
  2. Click “+ New album”, fill in “The album name” and “Album date”.
  3. Choose “Regular album” or “Orthodontic photo protocol (slots)” and click “Create”.
  4. Add photos with “From the file” or “Upload”.
More

In the orthodontic protocol each photo has its own slot (“Față, frontal” (Face, frontal), “Face, smile”, “Profil drept” (Right profile), “Intraoral frontal”, “Ocluzal superior” (Upper occlusal)…). “Remove from the album” takes it out of the album only; the photo stays in the file. “Delete the album” deletes the album, not the photos. “Edit” renames the album.

Photos with consent refused carry “no consent”. From the same window, “Smile simulation” (marked “In progress”) opens the smile simulation.

Creating and editing albums requires the “Editează fișa / istoricul” (Edits the record / history) permission.

How do I straighten or crop a photo

  1. In the album, click the photo.
  2. Use “⟲ Rotate left”, “⟳ Rotate right”, “Mirroring” or the “Straighten” slider.
  3. Click “Crop” and drag a rectangle on the photo.
  4. Click “Gata” (Done).
More

Editing does not touch the original: the photo in the file stays as uploaded, and the album shows it edited. “↺ Reset to original” discards all changes.

How do I add a video to an album

  1. Open the album and click “Upload”.
  2. Choose a video file (MP4, MOV or WebM).
More

The video shows in the album, with playback. The “×” on it (“Remove the video”) removes it. If the browser cannot play the format, you see “This video cannot be played in your browser.”

How do I view an intraoral scan

  1. Open the “Intraoral scan (STL)” study.
  2. Drag to rotate the model; the wheel zooms in.
  3. Click “Distance” and click twice on the model to measure.
More

“⟲ Fit” brings the model back into frame, “To report” attaches the view. The original file is downloaded from “Study files”, for example for the lab.

How do I view the intraoral status

  1. In the patient record, “Imaging” tab, click “Status”.
  2. Choose “The status at the date”, if you like.
More

The button appears when the patient has periapicals. The status lays the images out on the arch and shows how many positions have an image.

How do I keep the implant passport

  1. On the record's “Imaging” tab, under “The implant passport”, click “+ Placed implant”.
  2. Choose the tooth, the “Placement date” and the implant (from stock or typed in).
  3. Enter “The lot (from the box)”.
  4. Click “Write in the passport”.
More

The passport keeps every implant placed, with its lot — for a manufacturer recall. An implant from stock deducts exactly the lot chosen.

Implants ticked done at visits appear at the top, “To write in the passport, from visits”: click “Write in the passport” on the row and fill in the lot.

A removed row stays in the history, with the reason; stock does not change. With the “Trimite lucrări la laborator” (Sends work to the lab) permission, 🧪 on a row orders the implant crown from the lab.

Requires the “Editează fișa / istoricul” (Edits the record / history) permission.

Day prep and statistics

How do I see untreated findings in the morning

  1. Open Dashboard.
  2. Read the “Day prep” card.
  3. Click “My patients” to see only your own patients.
More

The card shows today's patients with an untreated finding on their radiographs — a cavity, a periapical lesion — with nothing in the plan on that tooth. The same appears, briefly, in the appointment panel: “On radiographs, untreated:”.

Requires the “Vede ședința de dimineață…” (Views the morning huddle…) permission and the “Raport radiologic pe dinte” (Per-tooth radiology report) module.

How do I see imaging statistics

  1. Open Imaging (the “To read” tab) or Reports.
  2. In the “Imaging” card, choose the period (“From”, “Until”).
  3. Read “Findings with nothing scheduled after them”, “Studies by kind” and “By doctor”.
More

A finding with “nothing scheduled” has neither a procedure in the plan on its tooth nor an appointment after the study. “By doctor” shows studies, signed reports, approved teeth, prints, exports and shares. Requires the “Vede rapoarte” (Views reports) permission.

CBCT analyses

How do I draw the arch curve

  1. Under the viewer, in “Panoramic and sections”, click “〰 Arch curve”.
  2. Choose “Mandibular” or “Maxillary” and “The slice height”.
  3. Place the points along the middle of the arch, from one last molar to the other — or click “Propose the curve”.
  4. Click “Save the curve”.
More

The panoramic unrolls, with the cross-sections below it; a click on it moves the sections there. Adjust the “Panoramic thickness” and “Step between sections” sliders as needed. If the study has a Romexis session, “The curve from Romexis” brings it in. “↶ Last point” deletes the point placed; “〰 Redraw the curve” starts over.

The panoramic and the teeth's slices in the report appear only once the curve is drawn.

How do I trace the mandibular canal

  1. In “Panoramic and sections”, click “Mandibular canal”.
  2. Click along the canal on the panoramic.
  3. Click “Save the canal”.
More

On a section, a click moves the nearest point. “Delete the canal” removes it.

How do I correct tooth numbers on the CBCT panoramic

  1. On the report's panoramic, click “✎ The numbers”.
  2. Click a wrong number and choose the right one.
  3. Or shift the whole numbering with the arrows, 1 mm at a time.
More

The numbering comes from the curve's length and the average tooth width, so it is approximate. If another tooth already has the number you chose, the two swap numbers.

How do I view and mark the TMJ

  1. Put the crosshair on the condyle in the planes.
  2. In “Panoramic and sections”, click “TMJ”, then “From the crosshair center”.
  3. Click “Save: right condyle” or “Save: left condyle”.
More

Sagittal and coronal slices through the condyle open. Saved condyles appear in the list; “Vezi” (View) takes the crosshair back to them.

How do I plan an implant quickly

  1. In “Panoramic and sections”, click “Implant”.
  2. Click where the platform goes, then once more for the tilt.
  3. Enter the diameter and length, or choose the implant from stock.
  4. Click “Save the implant”.
More

“⊕ The platform” and “↘ The tilt” choose what a click moves. Next to the implant you see the distance to the canal and to the neighboring implant.

From the list under the panoramic: “Carry into the plan” adds the implant to the treatment plan; “Guide to the lab” orders the surgical guide (with the “Trimite lucrări la laborator” (Sends work to the lab) permission).

How do I fully plan an implant

  1. Click “More tools”, the “Implants” panel.
  2. “1 · The tooth”: choose the site and click “Place implant … at the crosshair”.
  3. “2 · The implant” and “3 · The position”: choose the implant, the depth and the tilts.
  4. “4 · The crown and the sleeve”: choose the crown and the guide sleeve.
  5. “5 · The check”: check the distances, then “Save” and “✓ Approve tooth”.
More

Implants from the clinic's stock can be found by name, code or manufacturer. For position, “⌖ In the planes” or “Drag in 3D” (the orange apex tilts the implant, the crown's squares resize it). For the check: “The density around” and “Show the 1.5 mm outline in 3D”.

“↶ Undo” and “↷ Redo” undo and redo the last move; “Withdraw the approval” reopens the tooth. “Surgical report”, in the panel header, produces the planning sheet.

How do I do the postoperative check

  1. On the new CBCT, under “Postoperative control”, click “Compare with the plan”.
  2. Choose “The CBCT with the plan” and click “Compare”.
  3. Read each implant's deviations.
  4. Click “Save the placed implant”.
More

The app overlays the volumes on the bone and compares each planned implant with the metal found around it: platform shift, depth, lateral deviation. The result is approximate (metal causes artifacts), and “Save the placed implant” records it in the implant passport.

How do I do the orthodontic analysis

  1. Under “More tools”, in the “Orthodontics” panel, click “Open the analysis”.
  2. Put the crosshair on each landmark and click “Place … at the crosshair”.
  3. Read “The measurements”, the “Penn, transverse” analysis and “TMJ and conclusion”.
  4. Click “Orthodontic report” to print.
More

The “Lateral” and “Frontal” cephalograms from the volume show the landmarks; a click on them moves the crosshair. With a field smaller than 15 × 13 cm, some landmarks may be missing, and the measurements that need them stay uncalculated.

How do I make a 3D model from a CBCT

  1. Under “More tools”, in “Models and regions”, choose “Model from threshold”.
  2. Put the crosshair on the area you want and choose the threshold.
  3. Click “Build the model”.
  4. Click “Save to study” or download it as STL.
More

The model is drawn in the 3D view, with its enclosed volume in cm³.

How do I correct a model with the brush

  1. In the “Obiecte” (Objects) panel, click “✎” next to the model.
  2. Choose the “Brush radius”.
  3. Click on the model: whatever is inside the sphere is erased.
  4. Click “Save the corrected model”.
More

This is how you clean a model of artifacts (metal, bone stuck to a tooth). “Cancel” undoes the last erase; “Cancel” on the brush bar (“Renunță”) leaves the model as it was.

How do I measure a region (airway, cyst)

  1. In “Models and regions”, choose “Region from a point”.
  2. Put the crosshair inside: in the pharynx for the airway, in the lesion for a cyst.
  3. Click “Grows the region from the crosshair”.
  4. Click “Save the measurement”.
More

The region grows slice by slice, within the chosen area; read its volume in cm³.

How do I overlay an intraoral scan on a CBCT

  1. In “Models and regions”, choose “The scan over the CBCT”.
  2. Choose the “Scanarea” (Scan) and the “Arcada” (Arch).
  3. Click “Overlay automatically”.
  4. Check the remaining distance and click “Save the overlay”.
More

The scan must first be uploaded as a separate study. If the automatic match is not reliable, place three pairs of points (a cusp tip on the scan, then the crosshair on the same tip and “Point on CBCT”) and click “Match”. “Show in 3D” / “Hide in 3D” toggles the overlaid scan.

How do I send the case to the lab

  1. In “Models and regions”, choose “Case package”.
  2. Choose the area: “The zone around the crosshair” or “The whole volume”.
  3. Click “Build the package”.
  4. Click “Download .zip”, “Attach to order” or “+ New order”.
More

The package is built in the browser: the area's CBCT, without the patient's name and uncompressed, plus the models, overlaid scans, planned implants and the canal, in millimeters — for coDiagnostiX or another planning program. Attaching to an order requires the “Trimite lucrări la laborator” (Sends work to the lab) permission and the lab module.

How do I manage the objects on the 3D scene

  1. Open the “Obiecte” (Objects) panel.
  2. Hide, rename or delete an object from its row.
  3. Click “Export STL”, check the models and click “Descarcă ZIP” (Download ZIP).
More

The scene holds measurements, curves, canals, implants, models and overlays. Each model exports as an STL file, in the CBCT's millimeters.

Clinic settings

How do I set how long files are kept

  1. Open Settings → Clinic → Imaging.
  2. Under “Deleted radiographs”, enter how many days they can still be recovered.
  3. Under “The CBCT originals”, enter after how many days the originals are deleted (empty = kept).
  4. Click “Save”.
More

“Deleted radiographs”: 0 = files are never deleted; empty = the platform's rule. The study's record stays either way.

“The CBCT originals”: only the originals of a prepared CBCT with a signed report and no open correction are deleted. The volume stays and can be viewed and measured, but the DICOM files can no longer be downloaded and the study can no longer be prepared again. Deletion cannot be undone.

“Storage space”, on the same page, shows how much the clinic uses, by type.

Requires the permission to change settings.

How do I turn implant planning on or off

  1. Open Settings → Clinic → Imaging.
  2. Under “Implant planning on CBCT”, choose “On” or “Off”.
More

A simulated implant with distances to the canal is medical software under the European MDR regulation, so the clinic decides whether to use it. When off, implants already placed can be seen and deleted, but no new ones are placed, none are moved and none go into the plan.

How do I change the tooth number format

  1. Open Settings → Clinic → Imaging.
  2. Under “The dental chart format”, choose “FDI (ISO 3950)”, “Universal (ADA)” or “Palmer”.
More

This changes the display in imaging, on screen and on the report sheet. What is saved stays in FDI, so the format can change at any time without touching signed reports.

How do I connect a radiology device

  1. Open Settings → Clinic → Imaging, the “Radiology devices” card.
  2. Under “New device”, enter the name, “The kind of studies” and, if needed, the branch.
  3. Click “Issue the key”, then “Copy” and “I've saved it”.
  4. Give the key to whoever installs the program on the device's computer.
More

The upload program watches the folder the device exports its studies to and uploads them by itself, every five minutes; it can also be the device's DICOM destination. It sends a study whole or not at all. If a study does not appear after a few minutes, check that the program is running and that the key has not been revoked.

Requires the “Leagă aparate radiologice (chei de încărcare)” (Connects radiology devices (upload keys)) permission.

How do I turn on a device's worklist

  1. In “Radiology devices”, check “Worklist” on the device's row.
  2. Confirm.
More

The device sees the booked patients — name, date of birth and service — for a week around today and picks them from there instead of typing them. A study taken from the list goes straight into the booked patient's record when the name in the files matches; otherwise it goes to “To assign”.

The list is off for each device until someone turns it on, because it hands names and dates of birth to a computer in the practice. A device assigned to a branch sees only that branch's appointments; “The whole clinic” sees them all.

Why can't I change the findings?

The report is signed. Click “Începe versiunea …” (Start version …) in the report panel: the new draft opens the findings, and the signed version stays as it was.

Why can't I place or move an implant?

The report is signed (start the next version), the clinic has turned implant planning off, or your role lacks “Completează fișa radiologică” (Fills in the radiology record).
